- Once a month, provide service and assistance to each food pantry in Graham and Greenlee counties.
- Duties at each pantry location could vary, but the most common tasks included restocking shelves and keeping them well-stocked, as well as moving and arranging boxes in the storage area; attending to customers and visitors; and assisting elderly individuals by carrying their groceries to their cars.
- Provide the community with educational booklets and explain them on a one-on-one basis.
- Visit senior centers once or twice a month to teach them how to prepare healthy meals and perform mobility exercises.
- I used to help out once a month with the Powwow—a food distribution event held on the first Saturday of every month. I would usually be there at 4:00 a.m. to start helping bag items for distribution to the people.
- Attend SEAHEC meetings at their offices in Nogales to discuss project development, grants, and plans for the coming month.
