I have a long history in the food service industry, mostly fast food. These jobs gave me the experience I need to successfully communicate with people from all walks of life. I was also able to learn how to work quickly and efficiently in times of extreme stress, as a fast-food drive through can become very busy. I was also a receptionist at a mental health clinic. Receptionists are the first point of contact for patients; therefore, we would see most people at their worst. We also wittnessed them get help, recover, and become well again. In that line of work I learned to become very adaptable to any situation
In this position it is my responsibility to learn as many jobs in this department as I can. I cover different positions for those who are absent. I have experience picking orders, packing multiple types of hardware and cabinet doors. I label everything that gets sent out and make sure all labels match the products I am packing. I have experience delivering small parts out to those that build cabinets. Stocking the small parts area, the cells where the cabinets are built and the carts used to take items to the cabinet builders.
I was responsible for training new employees in safety, rules, and regulations. I made sure current employees were up to date on training such as forklift, lockout tagout, walkie stacker, and various safety topics. Assisted in teaching employees cabinet door styles, colors, and frames. Maintained training records and databases. This role required strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with computer software and company databases.
