• Conduct visual inspection of splice and entire conveyor belt

• Perform repairs on damaged belts

• Replace conveyor belt and cook both ends together using raw rubber and a vulcanizer.

• My first couple of months consisted of just unit maintenances. I started off slow by watching my lead tech perform the maintenance and familiarize with the unit and each component.

• Shortly after starting I became comfortable enough to perform maintenances of my own and explain every finding to the customer well enough for them to put their trust in me and the company to get their unit running proper and efficient.

After a couple months of maintenances i was able to ride along on service calls and learn deeper into the unit and diagnostics.

With my training from lead techs and courses on the trane website I became comfortable enough to run minor service calls, diagnose the system, communicate the issue with the customer and make the repairs.

• During my time in maintenance my duties were to conduct visual inspections throughout the week to see what was running right and what would need to be changed out during our down day that week.

• The department I worked in did work for almost every department in the mine so I had the opportunity to do maintenance PM’s on crushers, ball mills, pumps, filter plants and conveyor belt systems.

• Operated 793 haul trucks and rubber tire dozers.

On a haul truck my duties were to get loaded by a shovel and transport material to either a dump, stockpile or crusher pocket.

• While traveling I had to always be alert watching for hazards in the road such as spills, light vehicles and other equipment.

• Being a trainer I would be assigned a new truck driver trainee that would drive all throughout the day for 14 days learning to operate the equipment safely through any road hazards and weather conditions.

• Operating a rubber tire dozer my duties were to clean up any rock spills in my assigned area to keep a safe path of travel for any other equipment as well as keep my shovel pit cleaned up so haul trucks could safely back in without popping any tires.
