  • Assist in the maintenance of flood control structures, primarily located in the northern region of Maricopa County. Some of these structures would include Cave Buttes Dam, Adobe Dam, New River Dam, 10th St. Basin, and the Arizona Canal Diversion Channel. Duties include:
  • - Inspected FCD structures and recorded damage in accordance with FCD standard safety and operating procedures, including inspection for graffiti, downed fences and gates, or missing/damaged signs.
  • - Inspected FCD structures for erosion on inlets, outlets, and earthen embankments.
  • - Performed landscaping duties that are in accordance with Maricopa County Air Quality Department's rule 310.
  • - Vegetation removal and maintenance in and around structures, including dams, piezometers, channels, etc. Knowledge in use of power tools such as weed eaters, chainsaws, pole saws, hedge trimmers and chippers to ensure trees and vegetation do not hinder with structure functions.
  • - Fence repair, removal, and installation around FCDMC property by utilizing fence stretcher's, micro press, wire cutters, T-posts, post pounders, and fence ties.

  • - Assisted Crew Leaders, and other Maintenance Specialists in preparing appropriate equipment and materials, supplies and tools for daily work assignments.
