I continued to learn many areas involving UI, such as Problem Solve, Advanced Sideline Detection, Warehouse Deals, and Exceptions. Early upon my start date I became a member of the Amazon Safety Committee (ASC), where I was able to voice my recommendations about Safety Concerns., and my keen powers of observation being put to good use. My goal is to establish getting to know everyone I work with on a one to one first name basis eventually because, I like to believe having a good rapport with other Associates is the key to keeping Safety our highest priority.
I was an Order Selector during my first year. I learned to become a certified operator for Work Hog Tugger, Crown, Nissan, and Raymond Electronic Rider Pallet Jack, and Forklift. Later on I transferred to work in the Returns Department. The returns Dock would have me sort, sometimes recuperate Items, palletize, shrink wrap, and make LPN's in order to accurately utilize hand-held scanner to record inventory back to stock very often in frigid temperatures throughout the day while keeping strict time constraints. I assisted with the disposal of Items gone to waste and Donations as well.
I optimized inventory levels by conducting regular audits and reduced stock discrepancies by diligently monitoring and adjusting inventory records for accuracy. Utilizing hand-held scanner I improved warehouse organization by categorizing items and maintaining clear labeling systems for easy access.
I accounted for all arriving materials. I recorded Items using Invoices and a hand-held scanner, writing other discrepancies in notebooks. Quickly stocked freezer, cooler, and dry goods areas while always rotating and facing existing Items forward. I utilized Health Department Standards and Practices for Thawing procedures. I decanted Racks of Foods and other Non-Foods Items and I assisted the Cold Room with finding anything they needed, including helping the cooks on staff with Chef Brown. I kept a Seasonal Cycle Count Gatekeeper to find what American Airlines requires to find decanted, dated, and thawing for their weekly audits being performed.
