Elise Visconti

As a student in the GCU nursing program, I contributed to my clinical hours at Peoria Post Acute from June 26, 2025, to July 17, 2025. I ranged from performing ACCU-Cheks, changing briefs and beds, conducting head-to-toe assessments, taking vitals, creating care plans, to in general just interacting with patients, all with the goal of making their day better with the little time I had there. Since I was in my first level within the program, I was not allowed to administer medications and haven't gained experience in it yet.

• Worked part-time as a barista learning how to multitask in stressful, fast-paced environments strategically
• Engaged in a lot of teamwork with coworkers to create an efficient and functional shift
• Switched between different stations including cold drinks, the espresso machine, and preparing food for customers
• Achieved experience in customer service working in the drive-thru and as a cashier
• Engaged in tasks such as closing up the store, which involved cleaning equipment, the lobby, and restocking
• Interacted with my customers to build connections and relationships to increase customer satisfaction

• Cared for girl, age 7, during weekends, evenings, and summer, spring, and winter breaks
• Took child to parks and playgrounds
• Created interesting, home-learning activities, in addition to numerous arts and craft projects
• Prepared lunches, dinners, and snacks
• Helped complete unfinished homework assignments if needed

• Care for boy, aged 3 ½, during parents' scheduled absences in the afternoons and evenings
• Ensure child is bathed, fed, and in bed prior to parents' return every evening
• Played innovative and educational games aimed at increasing early childhood development
• Play with child and read bedtime stories
• Clean and organize house whenever necessary, minimizing parents' clean-up times upon their return home
• Adhered to scheduled mealtimes and dietary restrictions as provided by parents
