

I am very excited to have the opportunity to apply for the vacant SGA Officer position. With my passion and past experience in student led organizations and my vigor as a student, I am confident in my abilities to meet the SGA mission of representing the Cochise College Student Body. I have three years of experience in customer service, two years as a barista, and almost a year as a supervisor. These positions have allowed me to develop strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and an amazing work ethic. My abilities continue to lead my current team to success everyday, I understand the importance of providing outstanding customer service and successfully resolving conflicts and challenges in a fast paced environment. This can be implemented within SGA to provide a better experience for all students. Alongside all of this, I am excited to take this opportunity and learn from it. With years of experience with student body focused organizations I would love the oppurtunity to display my skills and re join the environment I love so much. At Olive Garden my goals are to provide an outstanding experience to all of our guests while maintaining a professional yet friendly and welcoming demeanor. Working at Olive Garden has allowed me to work under high pressure and fast paced circumstances, all while maintaining quality service. I've evolved my problem solving skills and my adaptability due to this position. I am well versed and knowledgeable on food safety, allergens, and public safety to best provide for our guests. As a supervisor I am responsible for upholding the AAFES and Starbucks mission for our customers. Alongside regular barista tasks I run shifts and take on leadership roles. Tasks include opening and closing the store, running a shift, delegating tasks, handling money and bills, placing supply orders, completing shipments, and working closely with my manager to better our facility. This position has made me into a confident leader who can work a store properly. I ensure that we always meet our sales goals, keep customer experience at 100%, and reduce waste.
As a Barista I am responsible for upholding the Starbucks mission for our customers. This includes but is not limited to, being on bar effectively while maintaining customer relationships, being on register/food while ensuring everything is processed up to Starbucks standards, and making sure to promote the Starbucks and AAFES rewards/card. My position also includes completing shipments, prep, and cleaning in a timely and efficient manner.
This position has given me a lot of experience and knowledge in food service. I am well-versed and trained in food handling/safety and store procedures. I learned to do tasks such as making/handling food, how to clean all of the equipment and dishes properly, and how to do things such as prep. One of the most essential skills I improved in this position is my ability to interact and please guests.
This position allowed me to learn the backbone system behind Target. I learned to pull priorities, return go-backs, and zone the store. This position also allowed me to understand the store's layout further to help a guest in need best.
These positions taught me how to properly cashier/run a self-checkout aisle, deliver and complete drive-ups, and appropriately interact with our guests. It has given me beneficial people skills, allowing me to satisfy and help any guest I may encounter.
