I led a team focused on reducing police cell overcrowding in response to numerous petitions from citizens regarding police brutality and the failure to charge offenders in court, which violated their human rights. To address this, we met with the Governor of Imo State, alongside the Attorney General, and a committee was formed. We immediately initiated operations by visiting all police cells in Imo State, where we documented the names of inmates who had not yet been tried in court. We started the legal process for their cases, and most of these individuals were eventually granted bail.
