Staff Scheduling & Coverage:
Create and revise staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts and dining areas, addressing call-outs or staffing changes in real time.
Onboarding & Training:
Oversee the full onboarding process for new hires in the dietary department, including hiring, orientation, hands-on training, and ongoing development.
Inventory Management & Ordering:
Monitor food and supply inventory; place and track orders to ensure availability of items while minimizing waste and adhering to budget constraints.
Dining Room Oversight:
Supervise the daily operations of multiple dining rooms, ensuring meal service meets quality, timeliness, and customer service standards.
Staff Supervision:
Lead, support, and evaluate dietary staff including kitchen personnel and dining room aides. Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Resident Dietary Management:
Collaborate with nursing staff and dietitians to manage individual dietary needs and restrictions for residents, ensuring proper meal preparation and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Engagement & Table Visits:
Regularly visit tables to ensure guest satisfaction, resolve issues promptly, and create a welcoming, memorable dining experience.
Server Scheduling:
Create, manage, and adjust server and host schedules to ensure proper floor coverage based on peak times and staffing needs.
Inventory Management:
Track and manage front-of-house inventory, including beverages, service items, and supplies. Coordinate with vendors and place orders as needed.
Team Supervision:
Lead, train, and support front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bussers. Foster a positive work environment that prioritizes teamwork and customer service.
Kitchen Oversight (Cross-Team Coordination):
Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between the front and back of house, maintain timely food service, and support quality control.
