Developed strong collaboration and communication skills in community-focused environment, looking to transition into new field. Demonstrates adaptability and commitment to supporting team objectives. Prepared to leverage these skills to contribute effectively in new professional setting.
Volunteer work has strengthened both my communication skills and my ability to work safely with diverse groups. I regularly teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to children ages 4-13, where I break down complex techniques into simple steps, manage classes of 3-20 students, and closely monitor safety so participants are not intentionally hurt. This experience has helped me stay calm, attentive, and clear when giving instructions—skills that translate directly to patient interaction and maintaining a safe clinical environment.
I also volunteered as a student assistant at a CMA open house at Andrada High School, where I demonstrated how to take patient vitals, guided visitors on tours, and explained the CMA curriculum as we walked. This allowed me to practice professional communication, present medical information in an easy-to-understand way and represent the program in a confident and welcoming manner that prepares me to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
