Francisco Arevalo Valdez

Tucson

Summary

I earned my high school diploma after purchasing my first car at 17 and graduating at 18 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Shortly after graduating, I began working at Panda Express as a cook while maintaining a second job simultaneously. Balancing multiple responsibilities at a young age helped me develop strong time management skills, discipline, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.

After leaving those positions, I dedicated time to improving my physical and mental health while preparing for long-term career opportunities. I later joined Firestone Automotive as a mechanic, where I earned ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications in Automotive and Light Truck repair. This experience strengthened my technical abilities, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environments.

Seeking greater challenges and opportunities for service, I joined the Pima County Sheriff’s Department as a Corrections Officer. In this role, I gained experience in maintaining safety and security within high-security environments, preventing incidents, managing crises, and responding effectively under pressure. I also assisted in training recruits and promoting accountability, teamwork, and operational efficiency. I have been trained in weapon proficiency and been certified to carry a weapon for the department in which I have been used to high security inmate transportation from out of facility. My experience in law enforcement has strengthened my communication skills, integrity, situational awareness, and ability to remain calm and professional in demanding situations.

I remain committed to continued professional growth and public service, with the goal of pursuing a career as a Border Patrol Agent. I am eager to apply my law enforcement experience, strong work ethic, and dedication to protecting and serving communities while continuing to advance through training, education, and leadership opportunities.
