ROV pilot technician with over 500 logged piloting hours on work class ROV systems and 500 days of offshore experience. Holds HNC (Grade A) in Mechanical Engineering and completed a full modern apprenticeship. Skilled in construction, dive support, pipe-lay, survey, and IRM operations. Demonstrates strong leadership, time management, and performance under pressure in challenging offshore environments.
500+ Piloting Hours | 500+ Offshore Days | Work Class ROV Systems
I have worked as an ROV Pilot Technician across 18 offshore campaigns in various countries, gaining over 500 hours of piloting time and more than 500 days offshore. Involved in a broad range of scopes including heavy construction, survey work, dive support, and IRM (Inspection, Repair & Maintenance) operations.
I am comfortable piloting and navigating ROV systems to the worksite to carry out complex subsea tasks including tree installations/removals, PLET installations, and tie-ins. I have gained experience working in high-pressure environments where problem-solving and quick technical decisions were essential to keeping operations on track, especially in remote locations.
I am regularly involved in maintaining and operating a wide range of tooling, including torque tools, skids, and custom-built intervention packages.
I am confident working both independently and as part of a team, and have taken on task leadership when required—always with a focus on safety, accuracy, and performance.
3.5+ years hands-on experience with hydraulic, mechanical, and electro-hydraulic systems in subsea and offshore support environments
I Completed a Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering while working across multiple departments, gaining extensive experience with high-pressure systems, mechanical assembly, and hydraulic equipment. I Regularly worked to detailed technical procedures (BTI, W.A.T, F.A.T, S.I.T) in a safety-critical, ISO-standard environment. I am confident in interpreting technical documentation, following strict timeframes, and ensuring all work met industry compliance and quality standards.
Hydraulic Department:
In this department I built, repaired and pressure-tested components including HPUs, umbilical reelers and high-pressure hoses. I Conducted nitrogen testing, fluid flushing, and cleanliness sampling to meet ISO fluid cleanliness standards. I Carried out Workshop Acceptance Testing (W.A.T) and ensured mechanical fittings were assembled and rated correctly for intended pressures.
Electro-Hydraulic Department:
I Completed final placement in Electro-Hydraulic systems, working on Riser Control Modules (RCMs) which are used for controlling downhole valve operations. I gained a solid understanding of solenoid valves, electrical control systems, and electro-hydraulic actuation used in subsea and well intervention operations. I am experienced in fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and integration of electrical and hydraulic components. I gained strong skills in pressure testing, fluid handling, technical diagnostics, and working to exact standards in a high-performance, offshore-support workshop environment.
Developed strong attention to detail and patience through daily hands-on detailing work. Confident communicating with both customers and team members, and comfortable working in group settings or taking the lead when needed. Used to working to set timescales and staying focused under pressure while maintaining a high standards.
