My name is Jacqueline Davidson, and I am writing this letter to share more context about my background as I apply to your position. While I may not have formal job experience in a laboratory setting yet, my career path and education have been intentionally leading me toward laboratory work—specifically in microbiology—and I hope this letter helps explain that journey. I have spent more than six years working as a veterinary technician, where I gained strong experience in sample collection, specimen handling, diagnostic preparation, sterile technique, and working carefully under pressure. During college, my original goal was to become a veterinarian. However, through both coursework and clinical experience, I discovered that my true passion lies in laboratory testing and microbiology. I found myself most engaged when working with cultures, microscopes, and diagnostics, and I realized I wanted to pursue a long-term career focused on laboratory science rather than clinical practice. During my undergraduate studies, I completed formal laboratory coursework totaling 4 credit hours, including General Physics Lab, General Organic Chemistry Lab, Gen-Organic Chemistry Lab, and Microbiology Lab. These courses strengthened my skills in lab safety, sterile technique, microscopy, data recording, and careful analytical work. While this may not yet reflect full-time lab employment, it represents a strong academic foundation that I am eager to build upon. I am a dedicated and dependable worker who takes pride in accuracy, teamwork, and learning new skills.
