Accurately evaluate and process medication orders entered by medical providers.
Oversee technician filling of prescription and supply orders, verify accuracy of orders dispensed to Veterans.
Follow all VA policy and procedures relating to VA-ordered prescriptions, as well as community-based prescriptions issued through VA partner programs.
Counsel Veteran patients regarding proper use and considerations of medications.
Provide the highest level of professional service while constantly exceeding required metrics of work.
Act as and perform duties as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge as defined in the Arizona Statutes. Manage the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy, which includes compliance with all laws and administrative rules of the state and of the federal government pertaining to the practice of pharmacy, the compounding of drugs, and the distribution of drugs and devices. Perform quality control activities and develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes that contribute to and result in a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Ensure that the pharmacy is adequately stocked at all times with the drugs and devices necessary to provide services to Public Health entities.
Direct, coordinate, and supervise all human resource functions of the pharmacy staff, including hiring, supervision, performance evaluation, coaching and counseling, and disciplinary actions; ensure actions comply with County Merit Rules, County and Departmental policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal employment and labor laws; develop and implement corrective action plans as necessary. Assure timely and accurate completion and approval of timecards and other employee documents.
Negotiate, plan, implement, and direct county pharmacy programs with various outside entities. Manage various compliant 340B programs. Completion of monthly financial documents related to projections and budgetary reports.
