Field/Office Engineer/Project Engineer II

2020-2021 Scenario 3A City of Phoenix Waterline Project

Project Cost ~ $7 million

Position: Field Engineer II

  • Reviewed construction plans and financial projections to verify accuracy and feasibility of transportation, water, trackwork, and highway projects
  • Coordinated with project team to create, manage, and track RFI's from the field to the designer/engineer of record.
  • Managed procurement of critical lead items for the project site meet critical path schedule.
  • Tracked installed/remaining quantities and aligned them with the project's forecast.
  • Assisted Project Manager in creating and distributing the 3-week look ahead schedule.

2021-2022 Scenario 3B City of Phoenix 48" Waterline (Slip Lining Project)

Project Cost ~ $19 million

Position: Field Engineer II

  • In charge of turning submittals from multiple subcontractors to A/E for approval for all scopes of work per contract drawings and specifications.
  • Understands MAG and City of Phoenix Standard Details and Specifications.
  • Develop work plans with the superintendent to mitigate safety hazards, utilize resources efficiently, and forecast budgeted quantities and manhourfactors.
  • In charge of submitting TRACS permit applications to the City of Phoenix to be in compliance with Phoenix Street Transportation Department regulations.
  • Coordinated with the laborers union and operators union with hiring the craft personnel for the project.
  • Established a valve bolt-up checklist for required torque values, bolt pattern, and PSI ratings on the FRL (Filter, Regulator, Lubricator for a Hytorc Pneumatic Torque Tool) for a 48" BFV.
  • Assist Project Manager and Project Engineer with assigned tasks for procurement of materials, monthly subcontractor billings, and potential change orders.

2022-2023 Kiewit SW District Office and Northwest Extension Light Rail Project

Project Cost ~ $250 million

Position: Assistant Project Engineer/Office Engineer

  • Trained and mentored junior engineers, providing guidance and direction.
  • Implemented new strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency of engineering team.
  • Served as the Project Engineer for the Northwest Light Rail Extension II for six months when the current project engineer left the company, in charge of client pay applications for an approx 250 million dollar project.
  • Assisted Project Manager with Project Controls for the project with client coordinations, working with the scheduler to progress pay applications, and managing the junior engineers for specific scope of work.

Position: Batch/Structures/Barriers Engineer

  • Managed batch plant operations for self-perform batch plant for I-17 Flex Lanes project.
  • Transitioned to help with the Structures and Roadway Barrier team with managing procurement and submittals.
  • Managed multiple subcontractors and tracking daily cost.
  • Assisted Discipline Structures PE for month-end projections for the project.
