At Massage Envy for a decade, I have not only worked on my esthetician skills, but I was also eyes and ears to the therapists, the FD, the manager and all of their grievances. I have learned what works and what doesn’t. What is important and what is not. What needs to be communicated and what fires need to be extinguished. I have learned that managing a great team is leading by example, willing to listen and make needed changes to accommodate and to also be reasonable, trusted and fair. It’s not a job to bark orders but to guide and manage situations to what works best to keep a positive and pleasant working atmosphere that is so strong it is felt by the clients.
