I set up back 2019 to help our community to open up and spread awareness that Yuma need provide access for all disabilities. We get together once a month and discuss what Yuma needs to improve and how can we help this community to have what we needs in order to for all of us to have that access to many things. Like for example parks, Do they have some disabilities access like wheeler and some play area for them? Here another example what about bathrooms there no changing table for parents with disabilities children at any place like restaurant shopping center parks and more. What about providing interpreter for Deaf and Hard of hearing and Deaf/ blind for doctor appointment or court house or in jail that have no way to connect their family member let them know where they at? My experience as deaf person, I was committed to Behavior Health rehabilitation here in Yuma. However, they do not have any access for me there. I ask for VRI ( video relay interpretation service) to know my medical information and there no way for me to get hold of my husband. I been adverting through Yuma that we need help change this and give us the rights to have access to communication and right to have access to any where. There are a lots of barriers here for our community. As a Founder of this page try to make changes in our community here in Yuma and show Yuma that we all can capable do anything.
