  • Responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in a correctional setting. Maintain standards of professional nursing while providing patient education and guiding ancillary staff. Utilize EMR and paper documentation throughout the scope of duties and responsibilities. Upon arrival to the facility, inmates are screened for potentially life threatening conditions which require medical clearance at the local emergency department, evaluation of chronic health conditions, reconciliation of medication history, as well as a comprehensive psychiatric history. Nursing staff evaluate patients for health needs that can be resolved by implementation of standing protocol order. If standing protocol orders do not cover a condition, nursing staff utilizes SBAR format for provider consultation. RN is responsible for not only daily medication administration, but follow-up assessments to determine medication efficacy.
  • Coordinator of the Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) program since Mid-December 2024. Nurse is responsible for daily administration of MOUD including Suboxone and Methadone of various doses to several patients Monday through Friday, on-call on weekends if there is no appropriately trained nurse working the weekends. During MOUD med-pass, RN is responsible for continuous evaluation of therapy effectiveness in order to ensure that patients are receiving the correct dose. If patients are experiencing detox symptoms, nurse coordinates with the facility provider for dose changes of Suboxone, or local agencies for Methadone dose changes. Other daily responsibilities include physical exams on patients receiving MOUD, coordination with provider for lab evaluations to determine therapeutic levels of medications. MCADF is currently in phase 1 of the MOUD program meaning they resume therapy which people are active with upon arrival in order to ensure compliance with the ADA. The MOUD nurse is responsible for coordinating with facilities patients received their prescriptions at previously to determine the existence of an active prescription and then continue therapy in accordance with provider recommendations.
  • Since May 2025 I have remained at Wexford Health as a PRN RN, coordinating with current Director of Nursing to fill gaps in schedule as needed and as available to assist.

  • Ensure specialty supply carts, trauma rooms, and crash carts are properly stocked.
  • May 2024 to September 2024 I cross trained as a night shift relief clinical lead in order to be available to work lead shifts if a full-time lead called off or was suddenly unavailable. Duties included but not limited to ensuring accurate documentation of staff Nurses, creating staff assignments for the shift while taking into account their strengths and weaknesses. Resolve patient complaints quickly in order to recover patient trust before it becomes a larger issue. Educate staff working the shift of any policy changes.
