• Monitored and optimized unit on a daily basis
• Introduced new dashboard monitoring system and rationalized alarms to improve efficiency
• Prepared simulation results for COT and capacity decrease through the utilization of Spyro software interface

Hydrogen Generation Unit – SMR (from September 2021)

• Conducted daily monitoring and optimization of the unit: e.g. optimization of steam to carbon ratio and Reformer outlet temperatures to increase Hydrogen yield

Delayed Coker Unit

• Conducted performance test of the unit after start up
• Collaborated with Operations and Planning departments
• Monitored and evaluated process parameters, product qualities and bottlenecks
• Created daily monitoring tools to manage Performance test
• Developed and implemented unit optimization: capacity increase test of the unit, light products yield increase; implementing licensor suggestions on unit optimization – e.g. new quench ramp in Coke Drums, alternative online spalling procedure, contributed process evaluations during MOCs

Delayed Coker Unit/ MEROX unit

Supported preparation of the unit to start-up:

• Assisted with punch closure
• Worked with contractors
• Developed and implemented operational procedures based on manuals.
• Conducted technical training sessions to operators
• Supervised on-site application of operational procedures

10-week summer internship deliverables:

• Performed pump calculations
• Updated system and pump speed changes to improve NPSH margin
• Generated new pump and system curves
• Conducted investigation around separator level-volume changes on Chirag platform.
