Sheriff's Unit Commendation Certificate awarded for exemplary service above and beyond the normal performance of assigned duties. On July 12, 2024 a fire started at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex which resulted in over 350 inmates having to be evacuated. Segments of seriously ill inmates, high security risk inmates, hundreds of general population inmates and even juvenile inmates were evacuated without a single serious incident.
