F-35 Mechanic III

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled nose-to-tail maintenance on F-35A military aircraft, in accordance with Joint Technical Data modules. Day-to-day tasks include, but not limited to:
  • Low Observable (LO) material restoration, before and post-flight inspections, troubleshoot and diagnose warnings from Integrated Caution Advisory and Warning (ICAW) system and Health Reporting Codes (HRC), replace or repair appropriate parts following diagnosis.
  • Replenish Backup Oxygen Supply bottles
  • Comply with Time Compliance Technical Directives (TCTD)
  • Refuel/defuel aircraft
  • Wash aircraft
  • Service aircraft fluids including: engine oil, Integrated Power Package (IPP) oil, engine starter-generator oil, and landing gear hydraulic fluid.
  • Operate and use appropriate Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and specialty tools including: combination generator/air conditioning cart, nitrogen cart, oxygen replenishing stand, OBOGS decay test set, OBIGS test set, and hydraulic and engine/generator servicing units
  • Accurately document all maintenance actions performed via Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)
  • Launch, recover, and marshal aircraft to support flight operations
  • Utilize proper personal protective equipment 'PPE'
  • Remain up-to-date with monthly online and On-The-Job training requirements.

FAA Assembly & Test Technician Level III
