I am a self-motivated and dedicated individual with Charge nurse, neuro pcu, and procedural experience. My objective is to obtain a leadership position with Banner to continue working on my professional growth. With 15 years of management experience in dental offices I have learned to promote a positive work environment, maintain open communication between patients and healthcare providers, time management, and organization to provide the best patient outcomes, . I am an excellent team player, fast-track learner, honest and trustworthy. With the skills I have gained in both dental and nursing, I am sure I can be an excellent addition to the leadership team.
Perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and provide interventions such as: iv insertion, blood draws, shaving, foley catheter insertion, medication administration, and EKG's etc. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to enhanced patient satisfaction through effective communication, empathy, and timely response to their needs. Collaborate with physicians to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions. Educate patients, families and caregivers on pre preparation for upcoming procedures and post-op care and expectations after procedures. Develop and implement care plans, considering factors like safety and effectiveness of care. Work with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and effective communication. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinician education activities. Recently started learning how to work in PAT, preparing patient folders for upcoming dates, assuring correct orders have been received, entering doctor order, and making patient packets with medical history, images, clinical notes etc.
In this unit I had the opportunity to become NIHSS certified, Ultrasound IV certified, ACLS/BLS certified, CAPD certified, certified preceptor, and Charge nurse. I have learned how to do full neuro assessments, communicate with providers of all specialties and other unit nurses, patient/family communication, as well as mastered patient care and warning signs. This unit cares for Pre- and post-surgical patients, as well as ICU downgrades, tracheostomy care, hi-flo, NG tube, and Gastric tube-related cases. It is a critical care floor that also consists of patients with certain drips, telemetry care, alcohol/opioid withdrawal, and Comfort/hospice care patients amongst other responsibilities. As the charge nurse my responsibilities were to coordinated nursing care on unit through staff assignments, assisting and rounding with physicians, monitoring patient orders, and communicating with ancillary departments. Be present in all staffing meeting, rapid responses, codes, promote safety, and optimize patient and family satisfaction by being available to help resolve potential issues and complaints.
Worked part-time as a school nurse substitute. At Foundation for Blind children, I cared for a child 1-on-1. The child was partially blind, suffered of epilepsy disorder, required tube feeding, scheduled medication, and personal care, worked through the summer program.
Finished my assignment at Foundation for Blind Children and moved on to to Western Valley Middle School, as substitute school nurse for children kindergarten to 6th grade. At this middle school I provided daily personal care, covid testing, ear/eye checks, educated parents about certain health condition, recorded immunizations, and provided daily medication. This included certification through the state of Arizona and continued education for children safety. Served as liaison between families, school personnel, and other healthcare providers on behalf of students.
