As a Mechanical Engineer at Plant Service & Engineering, Korea Electric Power COrporation (KEPCO), I have participated in the construction, commissioning, and commercial operation of combined cycle power plant since 2013, and in the commissioning and commercial operation of the first nuclear power plant in the Middle East since 2023. I have coordinated their progress from commissioning through to commercial operation. Throughout these projects, I have actively contributed to the verification of vendor-delivered materials, commissioning procedures, and troubleshooting of key pump systems, including the Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP), Charging Pump (CP), Main Feed Water Pump (MFWP), and Condenser Vacuum Pump (CVP), ensuring that all systems meet the highest performance standards. My extensive experience in both combined cycle and nuclear power plants has enabled me to develop a comprehensive understanding of complex engineering systems and the operational challenges they present.
- Lead the commissioning process for major mechanical rotating machinery, including the Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP), Charging Pump (CP), Main Feed Water Pump (MFWP), and Condenser Vacuum Pump (CVP), ensuring all systems meet technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise the testing and performance verification of mechanical equipment during commissioning, promptly addressing and resolving any issues to ensure seamless system integration.
- Supervise the final inspections and quality assurance processes to ensure that all major mechanical rotating machinery are fully operational and comply with the project’s technical and safety standards.
- Provide continuous technical support during the commercial operation phase, monitoring system performance and promptly addressing any operational issues to ensure optimal plant performance.
- Executed the engineering design, sourcing, and implementation of essential pump systems, including the Boiler Feed Water Pump (BFWP), Condensate Pump (COP), as well as cooling and safety systems, ensuring adherence to project requirements and schedules.
- Performed system testing, troubleshooting, and adjustments during commissioning, ensuring the smooth start-up of equipment and minimizing operational disruptions.
- Managed the optimization of mechanical systems post-commissioning, implementing preventive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment lifespan and plant efficiency.
