My ambition to pursue a Nursing career was cemented after my first mission trip to Tanzania with my father, who is an active ED doctor in South Dakota. This was the first time I was able to practice nursing skills at a makeshift family health clinic run by my father as a "charge nurse," taking patient information, obtaining basic vital signs, organizing charts, and discharging patients.
