Following high school, I committed to boxing at a very serious level. It became a full-time responsibility, where I trained up to three times a day, including conditioning, technical training, and sparring, in order to compete with some of the top fighters both in and out of state. That level of commitment also required frequent travel and maintaining a strict, demanding schedule. Because of the intensity of training and travel, it made it difficult to maintain traditional employment during that time. However, boxing required me to hold myself to a high standard of discipline, accountability, and consistency on a daily basis. Through this experience, I developed a strong work ethic, mental toughness, and the ability to stay composed and perform under pressure. I’ve learned how to take direction, remain coachable, manage my time effectively, and push through adversity even in high-stress situations. These are qualities I’ve built over years of commitment, and they are the same qualities I’m ready to bring into a career in law enforcement.
