I have been trained and certified on the Allaris IV pump. I have extensive knowledge of the medical privacy act laws and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). During my 2 years I briefed patients about their rights under HIPAA to include US contractors, foreign contractors and Military personnel, and have never had any HIPAA violations during my time in Iraq. I have knowledge in the operation and maintenance of a Type I ambulance to include radio checks, fluid checks, light checks, and stretcher maintenance. Ambulance equipment to include Zoll, and Suction. I also have knowledge of restocking supplies such as IV fluids, quick clot, tourniquets, and bandages. I also have the ability to drive the emergency and non-emergency setting. During my time in Iraq I was in charge of showing foreign Embassy personnel around our hospital, introducing them to our staff of medical personnel and educating them on the equipment and the medical capabilities to treat the injured in cases of life or death emergencies. The foreign, dignitaries were pleased with my knowledge of equipment and capabilities of our facilities as stated by my EMS Director and Project manager. I was also awarded employee of the month in April of 2014.
