• As a Health Technician I provide clinical and administrative support in a wide variety of patient care and related activities in the Emergency department. As a highly skilled member of the ED staff my duties include obtaining and documenting vital signs. Ability to recognize abnormal vital signs and reports to RN or Physician. Initiates cardiac monitoring with the ability to recognize abnormal rhythms and report to RN and or physician. Performs venipuncture and ability to start peripheral angiocaths. Continually monitors and assesses patient’s clinical condition. Documenting accurately in EHR, assists in moving, transferring, and lifting patients. Properly identifies patients with two identifiers prior to any exam or lab work. My current hours worked is 40hrs per week/ night shift.

• As Medic Supervisor I was responsible for overseeing a team of Sr. Medics and Medics providing emergency medical services and first aid level care to Vectrus employees at their assigned locations. I am the Primary point of contact on all medical issues related to project or worksite for established medical treatment providers in the locale. Interfaces with injury management, workers compensation, and outside compensation providers. Provides injury management and administers return to work programs at projects or worksites. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of required records associated with incidents and injuries occurring at worksite. Maintains project or worksite statistical data. Maintains proper inventory of EMS equipment and first aid supplies. Maintains project or worksite first aid facility. May oversee other health issues such as drinking water, toilet facilities, food preparations, living areas.

• Worked at JFL hospital in the USVI to help with staffing shortage. Primary responsibilities are working in the ER, ICU and PCU obtaining vitals, obtaining blood glucose levels, establishing IV’s, monitoring vent settings helping RN’s with patient admissions and discharges.

• As a Paramedic I was tasked with triaging all guests that come in for medical care. I am also part of the Rapid response team for medical emergencies for adults and pediatrics patients. Duties include assessment of vitals, intake of chief complaints, looking up guests in data system. Stabilizing patients in emergency situations before transport to outside hospitals establish IV, obtain EKG.

• United States Embassy in Kabul Deployed to US Embassy in Kabul. Provided exceptional patient care for all base contractors and responded to emergency calls on the compound for contractors and DoS personnel as well as performing UDS on T08 and T06 employees returning from leave. Meticulously maintained records of all patient files and transcribed all physician notes into the database post patient discharge while maintaining and organizing patient medevacs out of the country. Contributed to operational excellence by thoroughly maintaining inventory of all needed medical supplies and medication on site and consistently communicating with DoS to inventory all AEDs and tropicards on the compound. Proven ability to cross-train, multitask and prioritize multiple projects while being an excellent team player and helping in any department or task as needed.

• Gained hands on experience working within pediatric care while deployed to Fort Bliss Army base in El Paso, TX, to provide care for children at an emergency shelter. Leveraged flexibility and medical knowledge to contribute to a Rapid Response Team responsible for measuring vitals such as temperature, B/P, pulse, O2, and others, and was tasked with vaccinating over 6,000 children within DHHS. Demonstrated exemplary organizational and computer skills to utilize Microsoft Excel to capture all information and to maintain accurate records and a count of all vaccinated children. Regarded as a trusted resource for leadership, strong work ethic, integrity and overall quality of work.

• Warmly greeted patients and offered excellent care. Demonstrated a commitment to serving all individuals and providing excellent care regardless of age, race or sex. Proved ability to support colleagues in high stress and rapidly changing environments while deployed to support the Covid Alternate Care Sites located in El Paso and Austin, TX. Dependably and accurately obtained vitals, started IVs obtained lab specimens and took EKGs as delegated with little to no supervision. Skilled at running the Lifepak monitor as well as obtaining extra IV sites and labs as needed and diligently charting the information into PIMS while serving as a member of the Rapid Response Team. Maintained in-depth knowledge of COVID-19 policies and procedures and strictly always adhered to them. Consistently achieved or exceeded goals as established by the facility.

• Consistently responded to all phone calls, managing multiple phone lines promptly and courteously, to facilitate the transfer of medical patients from one hospital or facility to higher or lower care. Collaborated directly and closely with all doctors in all specialties such as surgeons, GI, trauma, and cardiac as well as family practice physicians. Utilized excellent communication skills and remained in constant contact with House supervisors to ensure proper bed placements either in ICUs, Med/Surg, or PCU. Utilized expertise transcribing in Centralogic patient’s condition and treatment plan for each. Exercised great attention to detail in filing all paperwork, preparing shipping label and containers for FedEx pickup, without error and in a timely manner.

• Deployed to the US Embassy in Iraq as a paramedic. Duties included Patient Administration using Lytec database, laboratory technologist, and daily treatment of patients covering all spectrums of injuries and illnesses. Diligently worked alongside a multi-disciplinary medical team to provide the highest level of patient care. Proactively maintained in-depth medical knowledge to handle emergency situations such as CPR and other life saving measures. Instrumental team member in working closely with logistics to order the accurate number of vital supplies using SharePoint. Routinely performed urine drug tests for all security personnel at the Embassy, approximately 6,000 collections per quarter, as well as being the auditor for all collections. Also performed alcohol screenings using saliva test strips. Worked closely with public health on any community outreach projects. Responsible for operation and maintenance of equipment to ensure patients recovered well. Prestigiously recognized and nominated several times as employee of the quarter due to outstanding service, stamina and passion for the job.

• Implemented strong medical knowledge in assessing and caring for an average of 52 to 130 children per shift with various injuries and illness. Duties included but were not limited to managing inventory and stocking of medical supplies, triaging patients, obtaining vital signs, wound irrigation, splint application for fractures or sprains using fiberglass or plaster, administered straight catheter and indwelling catheters, blood draws, EKGs, sterile urine collections, rapid strep screening, Influenza screening, patient education, and assisting physicians with setting up and carrying out procedures efficiently. Maintained a safe and clean environment by keeping workstations neat and hazard free.

• Deployed at largest Diplomatic Support Hospital in Iraq as a Paramedic. Daily treatment of patients covering all spectrums of injury and illness. Responsible for patient care along with daily clinic management from equipment checks and re-stocking of supplies. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology through working in Emergency room and through classroom; emergency medical treatments to include Stroke care, Trauma and MI. Knowledge of infection control and communicable diseases to include Influenza, Rabies and Venomous stings and bites by working closely with Public health. Operation and maintenance of equipment. Working in ER and providing transportation of the sick and injured when needed. Knowledge of hospital and pre-hospital protocols in hospital and pre-hospital settings. Required to provide patient care within the ED when not performing emergency response or transport services. Knowledge and skills in CPR and advanced life saving measures and assisting peers in providing support measures. I have knowledge of basic and commonly used medical terminology, medical equipment, supplies, procedures and the understanding of the body system to be able to perform duties such as taking vital signs, medical assessments, trauma assessments and emergency first response over the last 24 years. Knowledge of medical ethics and legal aspects both state-side and overseas. In the 2 years as a contractor in Iraq for the Department of State I have taken over 1,000 blood pressures, pulses, and temperatures (oral, axillary and rectal). I have performed more than 600 medical assessments to include trauma assessments in both the ER and in an emergency first response setting. I have operated and had training with many different types of equipment from Propaq Welch Allyn CS vital sign monitor, Propap Zoll, Life Pak 15, EKG machine. I have been trained and certified on the Allaris IV pump. I have extensive knowledge of the medical privacy act laws and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). During my 2 years I briefed patients about their rights under HIPAA to include US contractors, foreign contractors and Military personnel, and have never had any HIPAA violations during my time in Iraq. I have knowledge in the operation and maintenance of a Type I ambulance to include radio checks, fluid checks, light checks, and stretcher maintenance. Ambulance equipment to include Zoll, and Suction. I also have knowledge of restocking supplies such as IV fluids, quick clot, tourniquets, and bandages. I also have the ability to drive the emergency and non-emergency setting. During my time in Iraq I was in charge of showing foreign Embassy personnel around our hospital, introducing them to our staff of medical personnel and educating them on the equipment and the medical capabilities to treat the injured in cases of life or death emergencies. The foreign, dignitaries were pleased with my knowledge of equipment and capabilities of our facilities as stated by my EMS Director and Project manager. I was also awarded employee of the month in April of 2014.
