In this role, I have gained experience in professional patient interactions, teamwork, and efficient office work flow. This includes:

• Making/receiving daily phone calls to present the most helpful options for patients
• Assisting with insurance questions so that patients may understand eligibility and benefits
• Using quick discretion to schedule emergency appointments
• Sending referrals and exam notes to other offices
• Working smoothly with a small team, maintaining a good attitude and suggesting improvements to work flow
• Operating retinal imaging equipment
• Operating auto-refractors, lensometers, and visual field units
• Recording accurate patient medical history via electronic health record systems
• Training patients in the insertion of contact lenses
• Administering dry eye treatments
• Facilitating smooth communication between patients and optometrists, acting as a liaison for any concerns or questions

At this position, I gained sales and customer service experience. Organization and presentation, involving problem solving, were a large part of my daily activities to maintain the best image and functionality for the store. In manager training, I learned some money/drawer counting skills. I also became proficient in resolving customer complaints.
