Modified date cards and performed necessary JCL changes to support job restarts and reruns. Assisted service desk with ad-hoc requests for DES and ADOA, promoting quick response times. Generated incident reports for jobs with error codes or that abended. Facilitated communication with programmers via phone and email to resolve issues efficiently. Monitored CICS regions for irregular system activity and error messages to maintain performance. Recorded problem announcements and corrections for effective turnover reporting. Executed IPLs on multiple LPARs as needed to maintain system continuity.

General duties were the same as those describe above with one exception:

Assisted in cross-training within the DES NOC department to gain hands-on experience with network operations. Participated in daily operations and support of the sever system using the Orion SolarWinds Performance Monitoring Platform. Assisted in troubleshooting network monitoring errors and configuration issues. Created alerts and custom reports for issue notifications to responsible departments. Helped establish and maintain patching schedules. Completed several online courses and training videos through SolarWinds Academy and eLearning library.

• Submit and monitor jobs as they execute on the mainframe.
  Mount tapes and respond to system messages and request.
  Monitor UNIX, WINDOW, and LINUX servers on a hourly bases
  looking for abnormal hardware or software messages.
  Perform daily server backups.
  Run daily production jobs for multiple departments.
  Monitor printers as they print reports.
  Handle paper jams as well as paper breaks.
  Also perform first level maintenance on laser printers.
  Distributes departmental reports throughout the building
  according to instructions.
  Prepares turnover reports, statistics, documentation to improve
  computer operating efficiency.
  Interact with programming and edit JCL for job restart after
  abnormal termination.
  IPL mainframe computer and IML 3480 tape drive controller
  when required.
  Use PROCOMM software as the interface for transferring charge
  authorization files with the TSYS bank clearing house.
  The PROCOMM interface uses SFTP and encryption to securely
  transfer files.
  Use the VPN-TOOL which allows outside access to our in-house
  Telephone Order Center phone lines.
  And gives operations the ability to monitor that access.
  Also use NAVIGATOR software to switch phone traffic back and
  forth between host company and outsource company.
  Receives calls from all levels of the user community and responds
  in a tactful and courteous manner utilizing proper
  telephone/email etiquette.
  Responds to user concerns by helping with their
  problems/procedures; answering questions and/or escalating
  calls and tickets to the appropriate support group.

Documented and maintained procedures related to JCL analysis. Prepared operational reports on JCL for management review. Assisted with administrative tasks in JCL for data tracking and reporting. Collaborated with programming teams on a conversion project. Conducted testing on new and modified programs and JCL changes. Managed PARMLIB and control library members, along with production and test libraries. Created new PDS libraries as needed. Utilized IBM utilities to complete assigned tasks.

Submitted jobs for batch processing and testing using CA-7. Assisted in correcting JCL abends and restarting jobs with non-successful return codes via CA-11.

Assisted in the maintenance of sys1.proclib members. Operated mainframe computers and tandem mohawk devices. Executed IPL processes as necessary. Produced tape library reports utilizing CA-1 parameter keywords and commands.
