Maintaining currency in the area of expertise and to function as an expert in the specialty field. Serve as a Training facilitator responsible for instructing, testing and certifying U.S. Army Unmanned Aircraft Systems operators in all aspects of Shadow TUAS Operators Course. Instructional subjects include Emergency Procedures, Flight Logic, Map to Video Correlation, Simulator Flights, and Flight Line Operations. Prepares and presents platform and hands-on instruction, development of instructional materials, to include exams, remedial and supplemental materials. Provide feedback to the student verbally and in writing of the student's performance, grade the student's work in accordance with Government provided references, procedures, and forms. Helped facilitate and incorporate a new training program for Part 107 and SUAS. Created, implemented, and instructed classroom driven training for Part 107 with an 80% success rate for students obtaining their Part 107 license.

  • Took part in helping develop and standardize drone crop spraying operations on a large scale. Wrote manuals and procedures on operations with FAA part 137 drones. Used a multitude of different drones to complete mapping missions and 3D reconstruction of structures. Head maintenance in charge of over 25 drones in the fleet. Developed a maintenance log to record repairs and inspections. Took part in multiple different government contracts including DOT, Fish and Wildlife, and Hanford DOE. In 6 months obtained over 600 hours of flight time and 8000 acres of crops sprayed.

  • Implemented and managed the Aircrew Training Program. Trained over 20 soldiers to properly operate the Shadow UAS. Created new and updated academic classes. Classes contained Laser Safety, Gunnery, Airspace, FADEC-F, Crew Coordination, and countless other Aviation related classes. Assisted in helicopter and UAS co-operations. I was a vital asset in rebuilding the flight program and CAFRS during an ARMS inspection. Prepared 2 soldiers for the Department of the Army UAS Instructor Course. Over 150 instruction flight hours. Operated the RQ-7B simulation system and the new Block III certified simulator.

  • Participated in a rotation to South Korea as well as two rotations to JRTC, two rotations to NTC, two rotations to Dugway, one rotation to Ft. Hunter Liggett, and one rotation to Yakima. Also set up the ground equipment for the Ground Control Station including the TALS, GDT, PDGT, PGCS, and the weather station. I worked mainly at the mission site connected with a Tactical Operations Center. I have over 400 hours logged working with three different camera payloads to include the POP 300, POP 300D, and the MX-10. Developed an expert level of payload camera control for tracking and identifying High Value Targets. Tracked multiple different targets and provided up to date reports on each one resulting in an overwhelming success in multiple training rotations. Assisted in strategic planning by providing reconnaissance through the UAS platform. Performed two 3-hour flights per day as an Aircraft Commander. Expert knowledge on troubleshooting problems that occur with the RQ-7B system both on ground and in air. Successfully recovered 4 aircrafts with no damage while experiencing in air real world emergencies. Qualified Mission Coordinator. Qualified as a Mission Briefing Officer.
