I currently serve as a Behavioral Health Technician at Mind 24/7 Crisis Center, where I provide direct care to youth and adults in acute psychiatric crisis. In this role, I monitor patient safety, assist with daily living needs, document behaviors, and implement de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies to support stabilization in high-stress situations.
Previously, I worked as a Behavioral Health Technician at the Arizona State Hospital, where I supported patients with severe psychiatric conditions through safety monitoring, crisis intervention, and therapeutic engagement. I also have experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the ICU at the Mayo Clinic, where I gained valuable skills in monitoring vital signs, assisting with patient care tasks, and supporting complex medical interventions in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
These roles have strengthened my skills in crisis management, communication, and patient-centered care while deepening my commitment to serving vulnerable populations. My passion for healthcare inspired me to pursue nursing, and I am currently in my final year of nursing school. I look forward to combining my clinical knowledge, behavioral health experience, and dedication to compassionate care to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients across diverse healthcare settings.
As a Behavioral Health Technician in a psychiatric crisis setting, I provide direct care and support to both youth and adult patients experiencing acute mental health challenges. I monitor and document patient behavior, conduct safety checks, and maintain a therapeutic and structured environment. I use de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to ensure patient and staff safety while modeling positive coping skills.
I assist patients with daily living activities, encourage group participation, and help them engage in treatment plans designed by nurses, therapists, and psychiatrists. I also facilitate and co-facilitate psychoeducational and skills-based groups, supporting patients in developing healthy coping mechanisms.
In my role, I collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, communicate changes in patient status, and ensure accurate documentation of all observations and interventions. I am experienced in handling admissions, discharges, and transfers with compassion and professionalism.
I take pride in my ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress crisis situations, to build rapport with patients, and to uphold trauma-informed care principles. My work is guided by patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, with the goal of supporting stabilization and recovery for every patient I serve.
