  • As a medical assistant there's many responsibilities that fall under that role starting from sanitizing and keeping examinations room clean for incoming patients, interview patient to obtain reason for visit: chief complain and document accurately all patent information in electronic medical record, obtain, and record patient's vital sign according to protocol for patient's age, prepare exam room and patient for the type of exam/procedure to be performed
  • As well as the maintenance of patient confidentiality following all HIPAA policies and procedures, communicating in a timely and professional manner with patient and other members of the care team at all times
  • There is also the administration of vaccines, assisting with procedures: toenail removal, pap smears, Nexplanon insertion and removal, IUD insertion and removal, shave biopsy, knee/carpal tunnel injections, EKGs, spirometry, colposcopy, reviewing the patient plan and educating patient on discharge instructions

  • On top of answering their calls, I make sure their calls are transferred over to the business owner or manager

  • Every business is different, it can range from doctors, vets or law firms needing to schedule their appointments, to car buying companies providing the customers with instant quotes on their vehicles
  • Many of the calls are upset callers that are having issues; therefore, patience and great customer service is greatly needed to succeed
