Ultimately my mental health journey brought me to Granite Mountain Rehab where I stayed for 60 days, learning healthier coping mechanisms, and ultimately led to ignite a passion within me to help others struggling with mental health and addiction disorders.
My therapist suggested being a peer support specialist and that it could be the type of meaningful work that would not only be therapeutic to the clients, but myself as well.
A defining moment for me was when I randomly met a BHT (who also happened to work for Granite Mountain) 3 months after my therapist had told me I would be a great PRSS, who mentioned I would be great working in Peer Support Services. It was then I decided to take the PRSS Certification Course through Just 1 Life Services, LLC, and embark on my journey to help support others going through similar experiences, as was done for me.
